　　Long after Pangu pushed apart the sky and the earth, there was no man on the earth except some animals and a beautiful goddess, Nüwa.

??????盤古開天地后過了很久，大地上沒有人類，只有一些動物和一個美麗的女神——女媧。

?????One day, when she was walking around apond, Nüwa saw a pretty face on the water of the pond — that was her own face! This made Nüwa excited. Using the mud from the pond, she could make a little thing that looked like her.

??????一天，當女媧在一個池塘邊散步時，她發(fā)現(xiàn)池塘水面上有一張漂亮的臉蛋——那是她自己的臉蛋！這讓她興奮不已。她可以用池子里的黃泥做出跟她長得一樣的小泥人。

????So she grabbed some mud and squished it between her fingers. After a while, a little babylike thing was made! “Mama!” cried the baby. What a big surprise! How happy Nüwa was when she heard this! She had someone to take care of! She was not lonely any more!

??????于是她抓起一些黃泥，用手指捏了又捏。不一會兒，一個嬰兒般的小泥人就做成了?！皨寢?！”小泥人喊道。這是多大的一個驚喜?。∨畫z聽到這聲“媽媽”，感到真快樂！她有人要照顧了，她不再孤單。

????They laughed and played together.

??????她們一起笑，一起玩。

?????Nüwa named them “human”.

??????女媧給他取了個名字：人。

After observation and consideration, she picked up a dry vine from a cliff and dipped it into the mud. Then she flew into the sky and sprinkled drops of mud on the ground. Look, thousands of babies were waving to her! “Mama, Mama.” The sweet voice was the best reward of her hardwork.

??????經(jīng)過一番觀察和思考，她從懸崖上扯下一條枯藤，蘸到泥漿里，然后飛向空中，把泥漿灑向大地。瞧！成千上萬的寶寶在向她招手！“媽媽，媽媽！”這甜美的呼喊就是女媧辛勤勞動的回報。
