[成龍歷險記|西木|小玉|全英]天行不息 04 Curse of the Pharaoh

The five arrived in Egypt, standing in front of a pyramid.
“According to the book, the pharaoh’s mask is preserved in this pyramid.” Hsi Wu read the book.
The stone gate at the entrance was closed tightly, above which wrote several lines of hieroglyphs. Jackie Chan took out a hieroglyph dictionary and looked them up character by character.
“What the hieroglyphs mean is that one should remove the pharaoh’s jewel and target it at the picture on the gate, and then he can open the door.”? Jackie Chan only translated the first line, because it was too slow to look every character up in the dictionary.
“And where is the jewel supposed to be?” Jade asked.
“According to my experience, it must be not far from here,” Jackie said.
Jackie Chan searched the walls nearby carefully and as expected found a jewel embedded in the wall. He took it off and targeted it at the picture, the stone gate opened.
The five walked inside along the passage with flashlights, only feeling it gloomier and gloomier.
“I feel the atmosphere is strange,” Jade said.
“Don’t scare yourself. This is the tomb of the pharaoh, so the Yin Chi is relatively heavy.” Jackie said.
“Jade, you should fear nothing else since the real demon is with you. I don’t believe there is something more frightening than me.”
Suddenly, the whizzing of arrows came from behind.
“Bad day bad day bad day!” The arrows targeted directly Jackie Chan.
“Jackie!” Jade shouted.
Jackie dodged the arrows hurriedly. More arrows came, making Jackie flip and roll in the air and on the ground. However, where Jackie escaped, where the arrows targeted.
“Strange! Why do the arrows only attack Jackie?” Tohru said.
“I’m afraid it’s related to the jewel he takes,” Uncle said.
“Jackie! Throw the jewel to me!” Hsi Wu shouted.
Jackie cast the jewel to Hsi Wu and arrows corrected their course to him immediately. Heavier rain of arrows came but Hsi Wu did not dodge at all. Not too long after, the passage ran out of arrows and Hsi Wu was out of sight, only a cluster of arrows stabbing together.
“Seymour!” Jade shouted, running toward Hsi Wu.
Arrows quaked and all dropped to the ground. It turned out that Hsi Wu sheltered himself with wings.
“Done!” Hsi Wu smiled showing his teeth.
“You frightened me to death! Didn’t even dodge a little!” Jade said.
“You the little fool. Why should I dodge from these human’s arrows?” Hsi Wu said, shaking the wings. For such a long time he pretended to be weak, he did not want to do this anymore. His nature was still showing off himself.
“I care you and you call me the fool!” Jade pretended to be angry.
“Well, Jade, let’s be quick to find the pharaoh’s mask,” Jackie said.
The five walked to the end of the passage and a hall was in sight, in the center of which lay the coffin of the pharaoh. Opening the coffin, they saw a mask on the mummy’s head.
“That’s it.” Jackie took off the mask.
The five walked outward and used the jewel to open the stone gate, out of which were bustling crowds of visitors.
“Aiiee-yaahh! Why do you still take it! The jewel may have pharaoh’s curse on it.”
“I’m not afraid of the curse like you humans. I think we can send it to Uncle Jackie’s museum.”
Suddenly, there came the sound of the flute of a nearby traveler.
“Hiss…” Hsi Wu covered his ears, pretending to take no care. “Only a flute doesn’t matter to me.”
At this time, two tourists walked by. One of them was a westerner and the other seemed to be an ethnic Chinese.
“Do you know how to pronounce ‘Spirits, demons, ghosts, monsters, quickly leave’ in Cantonese?” The westerner asked.
“Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao,” the Chinese replied.
The flute emitted magic, beating Hsi Wu down and the jewel dropped aside.
“Pardon?”
“Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao.”
Hsi Wu was so painful that rolled on the ground.
“Sir, wait a minute to play. We have a person who is…allergic to the flute!” Jade ran to the flute player.
?“What! It’s the first time that I have met someone allergic to the flute!” The man was amazed.
Hsi Wu stood up, trembling, patting dust off his body and gave a glimpse at the jewel on the ground.
“Unlucky stuff! Don’t take you anymore.”
?
The five went to have lunch in a nearby town. When they walked aside an apartment, a large bucket of dirty water was poured from the second floor. It strook directly on Hsi Wu’s head.
“Hiss…” Hsi Wu was soaked through, eyes turning blood-red. He spread wings, flew to the second floor and pinched the water pourer’s neck.
“You wanna die!”
Suddenly, an ashtray fell from a higher floor and hit Hsi Wu’s head. Hsi Wu dropped downward and was caught by Jade. Jade touched his three pinches of hair.
“Bad day!” Hsi Wu nearly lost his temper but calmed a little after being touched by Jade.
“It seems that we should do research,” Uncle said. “Jackie, did you translate all the characters at the entrance of the passage?”
“I didn’t, Uncle.”
“Thwack!” A two-fingered slapping. “You always be so careless!”
“Uncle, it’s too slow to look each character up in the dictionary. But I’m indeed sorry, Hsi Wu.”
“We’d be quick to do research, not making me so unlucky anymore!” Hsi Wu said.
?
The five returned to the entrance, finding the jewel dropped to the ground missing. Jackie Chan took out the dictionary and began to translate the hieroglyphs.
“The one who takes the pharaoh’s jewel will be cursed and encounter a series of bad things. There are two ways to crack the curse. One is to hand the jewel to others, in this way the curse will also transfer. The other is to put the jewel in the original position. Remember that if one throws the jewel randomly, the curse will stay in him and won’t affect whoever picks it up.”
“Uncle has the willies!” Uncle suddenly trembled.
“Let me see who is unlucky.” Daolon Wong appeared, laughing, with the jewel in hand.
“Hand it in!” Hsi Wu saw the jewel and flew to Daolon Wong.
“Gan, Ren, Chui, Zhen!” Daolon Wong called the Dark Chi warriors.
Daolon Wong’s magic cane and the warriors’ weapons emitted light at Hsi Wu, who used wings to defend as usual.
“So it’s you who are unlucky! Sky demon.” Daolon Wong said, taking out a flute, playing it. “Don’t think I don’t know your weakness.”
Hsi Wu felt a headache hearing the flute. But without the spell, his body strength did not be affected.
“You the old wizard. Hand the jewel over!” Hsi Wu flew to Daolon Wong, covering the ears.
“Tornado decimates trailer park!” Hak Foo produced a gust of strong wind, disturbing the airflow, making Hsi Wu drop to the ground heavily.
“It’s also OK to get the jewel, but hand in the mask first!”
Dark Chi warriors approached Jackie Chan who took the mask. Jackie and Tohru battled with the warriors while Jade came to support Hsi Wu whose body and face was covered with dust.
“Are you alright?” Jade asked.
“I’m OK. Thank you.”
Daolon Wong walked near Hsi Wu and Jade, smirking with evil.
“Sky demon, can’t imagine you have the gentle side facing the child. I suggest you be with me, I can even give up half the world to you after we get it.” Daolon Wong got closer.
Hsi Wu still seemed to be quite weak, and nearly needed to be supported by Jade.
“I will consider this…but…done!” Taking the advantage of Daolon Wong thinking he was out of strength, Hsi Wu took the jewel and flew to the entrance of the passage.
“You the crafty demon!”
His Wu positioned the jewel in the original place and Jackie, Tohru and Jade continued fighting with the warriors. Uncle said the Chi Spell, beating them heavily.
However, Daolon Wong was not so easy to deal with. Uncle’s Chi Magic was not so powerful as his Dark Magic.
Uncle confronted Daolon Wong face to face. Uncle’s magic was green and Daolon Wong’s was purple. Just seeing the purple magic coming near Uncle’s side.
“Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao…Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao…” Uncle said the spell and was out of breath.
“Tian Xing Jian Jun Zi Yi Zi Qiang Bu Xi,” Hsi Wu appeared behind Uncle suddenly and imposed magic on Daolon Wong together with him.
The light of Uncle’s side expanded quickly to Daolon Wong, beating him away to the distance.
“Sensei, it’s so effective when you cooperate with Hsi Wu,” Tohru said.
“Humph! Uncle doesn’t know how to cooperate with a demon! It’s Uncle’s magic’s effect.”
“Maybe it’s immensely powerful when Yin cooperates with Yang.” Jade guessed.
“At least we have successfully derived the first item!” Jackie Chan said with the mask in hand, smiling.
“And at least I’m not cursed anymore.” Hsi Wu said.
?
The five returned to the town, settling up in a hotel. Everyone except Hsi Wu felt very tired with these days’ running around.
Hsi Wu lay in bed, thinking about future planning. Sometimes, strong opponents would also make him feel powerless. But after that, he would be no more tired. He could also fall asleep but it was only a kind of killing time or escaping disturbing feelings in his mind.
“Should I revise the Book of Ages with Daolon Wong or rule the world alone as the original plan?” Hsi Wu was a bit confused.
But not too long after, Hsi Wu rejected the former. Not to mention ruling the world alone would be much cooler, and not to mention that Daolon Wong might betray him, the Book of Ages itself was untouchable to some extent. It’s said that although falsifying history could make one powerful and wealthy temporarily, it would have an unpredictable influence on space and time, which led to countless trouble.
“Not to mention that if I take up the great cause myself, I can make Jackie Chan and his party my servants. Acquaintances are more convenient to use,” Hsi Wu thought.
