The IFFHS has devised an equitable method for determining THE WORLD’S BEST MAN PLAYMAKER OF THE DECADE 2011-2020.

The IFFHS has taken in consideration the TOP 20 of each yearly ranking of each category concerned and allocated points to each place. So the first placed received 20 points, the second placed 19 points, the third placed 18 points …. And 1 point for the twentieth place. If the annual ranking comprised fewer than 20, no point will be awarded for the unoccupied places .?

Adding the points from the individual years provides a World Ranking for the Period 2011 – 2020.

Lionel Messi, winner of the yearly Award in 2015, 2017, 2017 and 2019, also second in 2011, 2014, 2018 and 2020, won naturally the Ranking of THE WORLD’S BEST MAN PLAYMAKER OF THE DECADE 2011-2020 !

His domination during all these last 10 years was sovereign, winning 4 Ballon d’Or between 2011 and 2020 , 6 La Liga titles, 5 Copa del rey, 4 Supercopa de Espana, 2 UEFA Champions Leagues, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 2 FIFA Club World Cups with FC Barcelona !

Second in the ranking, his teammate Andres Iniesta (winner of two yearly Awards 2012 and 2013) preceeded Croatia’s and Real Madrid’s Luka Modric (winner in 2018),? Kevin De Bruyne (winner in 2020) and Toni Kroos (winner in 2014).

The determination of the Ranking of The IFFHS All Time World's Best Playmaker (1.1.2006 to 31.12.2020) carried out analogous as those of The World's Best Playmaker of the Decade, so there is a uniform system for the future. From the annual world ranking of the playmakers (as a result of the world vote) the IFFHS will take into consideration the "Top 20" for each year and allocate points to each place. So the first-placed receives 20 points, the second-placed 19 points, the third-placed 18 points... and a point for twentieth place. If the annual world ranking comprises more than 20 playmakers, then the playmakers from 21st place onwards receive no points. If the annual world ranking comprises fewer than 20 playmakers (based on the fixed rules), no points will be awarded for the unoccupied places. Adding the points from the individual years provides the All Time World ranking for the period 2006-2020.

First of all , a playmaker is the player who controls the flow of the team's offensive play, and is often involved in passing moves which lead to goals, through their vision, technique, ball control, creativity, and passing ability. The Playmaker has the same importance than a Goal scorer in a Team.That’s the reason why the IFFHS created in 2006 the Award of The World’s Best Playmaker. First winner : Zinedine Zidane in 2006 ! Second winner in 2007 : Kaka ! Then, the domination of FC Barcelona was total during ten years. Xavi won 4 Awards (2008 to 2011), Andres Iniesta 2 Awards (2012, 2013) and Lionel Messi won also 4 Awards (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019). Only Real Madrid’s Kroos (2014) , Modric (2018) and De Bruyne (2020) contested the Bar?a trio !

Dzsenifer Marozsan, the IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker 2016, 2018 and 2020, has won sovereign this DECADE Award of THE WORLD’S BEST WOMAN PLAYMAKER 2011-2020 ! The German Player of Olympique Lyon won not only 3 yearly awards , but was also ranked second in 2017 and 2019, third in 2013, 4th in 2015 ! Nobody else deserved so much this new Trophy that Marozsan.

During this decade, she won 5 UEFA Champions Leagues (1 with Frankfurt, 4 with Olympique Lyon), 2 German Cups (Frankfurt), 4 French Division 1 titles and 3 French Cups (Lyon), one Olympic Tournament Gold Medal and one UEFA Championship title with Germany !?

Brazilian Marta, winner of the First Woman Playmaker Award in 2012, took the second place before French Camille Abily, never winner but always ranked in the Top 10 during six years.

The other winners of the yearly Awards, Megan Rapinoe (4th), Lena Goessling (6th), Carli Lloyd (7th), Lieke Martens (9th) and Nadine Kessler ,today the UEFA Women Development Director, completed the Top 20 of the Decade 2011-2020.
