Part 1

Drills

1.A vessel is on our port/starboard side.

有條船在我船左/右舷。

2.An overtaking vessel is on our port quarter.

我船左舷船尾有艘追月船。

• quarter n. 四分之一，地區(qū)

3.A ship's green light is on our beam , prot/starboard bow.

我船正橫，左/右西舷船首可見他船綠燈。

4.A finshing boat is ahead of us.

我船前方有艘漁船。

• ahead of ... 在。。之前
• fishing gear 漁具

5.An unknown object is at our port/starboard side.

我船左/右舷有不明物體。

6.A vessel is cossing from port side.

有船自左舷穿越。

7.Rig the pilot ladder on leeside/port side/starboard side ...meters above water.

引航員軟梯安放在下風(fēng)舷/左舷/右舷，水上。。。米。

8.Manropes are(not) required.

（不）需要扶手繩。

9.Put lights on at the pilot ladder.

在引航員軟梯上安放照明燈。

10.Rig the accommodation ladder in combination with the pilot ladder.

引航員軟梯和舷梯合裝。

• accommodation ladder 舷梯 （用在船舷兩側(cè)）
• pilot ladder 引航梯
• embarkation ladder 登程梯
• gangway 舷梯 (用在船尾)

11.Have a heaving line/lifebuoy ready at the pilot ladder.

在引航員軟梯處準(zhǔn)備好撇纜/救生圈。

這些名詞均含有“船”之意：

• boat
• ship
• canos
• steamer
• vessel
• craft

boat

• 泛指任何大小的船只，尤指靠劃槳或風(fēng)帆行進(jìn)的無篷小船。
• You can take a boat trip along the coast.

你可以乘船沿海岸旅游一趟。

ship

• 含義廣，一般指大輪船，如航海船只，內(nèi)河航運(yùn)船只
• Within ninety minutes the ship was ready for departure.

90分鐘之內(nèi)輪船準(zhǔn)備出發(fā)。

canos

• 指長而輕，用槳的小舟、獨(dú)木船。
• We saw the canoe overturn, throwing its passengers into the water.

我們看到獨(dú)木舟傾覆了，把上面的乘客掀入水中。

steamer

• steamer : 指靠蒸汽發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)為動(dòng)力的船只。
• The steamer arrived at the quay with the tourists packed like sardines.

汽船駛抵碼頭，船上的旅客擁擠不堪。

vessel

• 多指運(yùn)貨或運(yùn)人的大船
• A Moroccan fishing vessel and a South Korean cargo ship collided in rough seas.

一艘摩洛哥漁船與一艘韓國貨船在波濤洶涌的大海上相撞了。

craft

• 船只的集合名詞，但可指單獨(dú)的船只。
• Hundreds of small craft bobbed around the liner as it steamed into the harbour.

班輪駛進(jìn)港口時(shí)，周圍的許多小船顛簸起來。
