咕嚕牛The Gruffalo——Julia Donaldson（勇敢冒險的故事）

A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. 一只小老鼠，嘰布嘰布，在森林深處溜達(dá)。A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.一只狐貍看到它，饞得口水直滴答。"Where are you going to,little brown mouse?“你去哪呀，小老鼠？Come and have lunch in my underground house."進(jìn)來吃午飯吧，地底下就是我的家。"It's terribly kind of you,Fox,but no--“哦，狐貍，你太客氣啦！可是很抱歉--I'm going to have lunch with a gruffalo."咕嚕牛約我來吃飯，一會就見面?！?#34;A gruffalo? What's a gruffalo?"“咕嚕牛？咕嚕牛是誰??？”狐貍問道。"A gruffalo!Why,didn't you know?"“咕嚕牛就是咕嚕牛。為什么，你連這也不知道？”"He has terrible tusks,and terrible claws,“他有可怕的獠牙和可怕的爪子，And terrible teeth in his terrible jaws."可怕的嘴里長滿了可怕的牙齒！”"Where are you meeting him?"“你們要在哪見面？“"Here,by those rocks,And his favourite food is roasted fox."“就在這塊巖石旁邊，他最喜歡的食物就是烤狐貍！”"Roasted fox! I'm off !"Fox said.“烤狐貍？我先走了！”狐貍說著，"Goodbye,little mouse,"and away he sped.“再見，小老鼠?！闭f完，他飛快地溜走了。"Silly old Fox! Doesn't he know,“這只老狐貍真是蠢！難道他就不知道，There's no such thing as a gruffalo?"這里根本就沒有什么咕嚕牛？”O(jiān)n went the mouse through the deep darkwood.這只小老鼠，嘰布嘰布，繼續(xù)在林中溜達(dá)。

An owl saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.

一只貓頭鷹看到他，饞得口水直嘀嗒。

"Where are you going to,little brown mouse?

“你去哪呀，小老鼠？

Come and have tea in my treetop house."

來我樹頂?shù)姆孔雍缺璋伞！?/p>

"It's fright fully nice of you,Owl,but no--

“哦，貓頭鷹，你太好心啦！可是很抱歉--

I'm going to have tea with a gruffalo."

咕嚕牛約我來喝茶?！?/p>

"A gruffalo?What's a gruffalo?"

“咕嚕牛？咕嚕牛是誰啊？”

"A gruffalo! Why,didn't you know?"

“咕嚕牛就是咕嚕牛。為什么，你連這也不知道？”

"He has knobbly knees,and turned-out toes,

“他的膝蓋特別鼓，腳趾叉得特別大，

And a poisonous wart at the end of his nose."

他的鼻頭上有一個毒瘤！”

"Where are you meeting him?"

“你們要在哪見面？”

"Here,by this stream,

“就在這條小河邊，

And his favourite food is owl ice cream."

他最喜歡的食物就是貓頭鷹冰淇淋！”

"Owl ice cream? Too whit too whoo!

“貓頭鷹冰淇淋?喔喔喔！

Goodbye,little mouse,"and away Owl flew.

再見，小老鼠！”貓頭鷹說完就飛走了。

"Silly old Owl! Doesn't he know

“這只老貓頭鷹真是蠢！難道他就不知道，

There's no such thing as a gruffalo?"

這里根本就沒有什么咕嚕牛？”

On went the mouse through the deep dark wood.

這只小老鼠，嘰布嘰布，繼續(xù)在林中溜達(dá)。

A snake saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.

一條蛇看到他，饞得口水直嘀嗒。

"Where are you going to,little brown mouse?

“你要去哪呀，小老鼠？

Come for a feast in my logpile house."

進(jìn)來吃頓大餐吧，木頭堆里就是我的家。

"It's wonderfully good of you,Snake,but no--

“哦，蛇，你太熱情啦！可是很抱歉--

I'm having a feast with a gruffalo."

咕嚕牛約了我吃大餐?！?/p>

"A gruffalo? What's a gruffalo?"

“咕嚕牛？咕嚕牛是誰??？”

"A gruffalo! Why,didn't you know?"

“咕嚕牛就是咕嚕牛。怎么，你連這也不知道？”

"His eyes are orange,his tongue is black;

“他有黃澄澄的眼睛，黑舌頭，

He has purple prickles all over his back."

紫色的倒刺長滿在他背后?！?/p>

"Where are you meeting him?"

“你們要在哪見面？”

"Here,by this lake,

“就在這個湖旁邊，

And his favourite food is scrambled snake."

他最喜歡的食物就是炒蛇肉！”

"Scrambled snake! It's time I hid!

“炒蛇肉？我要藏起來了！

Goodbye,little mouse,"and away Snake slid.

再見，小老鼠?！边@蛇說著扭著身子就走了。

"Silly old Snake! Doesn't he know

"這條老蛇真是蠢！難道他就不知道，

There's no such thing as a gruffal...

這里根本就沒有什么咕嚕牛？

...Oh!”......

??！”

But who is this creature with terrible claws

哪來這么個大怪物---他有可怕的爪子，

And terrible teeth in his terrible jaws?

可怕的嘴里長滿了可怕的牙齒！

He has knobbly knees and turn-out toes

他的膝蓋特別鼓，腳趾叉得特別大，

And a poisonous wart at the end of his nose.

鼻頭上的毒瘤特可怕！

His eyes are orange,his tongue is black;

他有黃澄澄的眼睛，黑舌頭，

He has purple prickles all over his back.

紫色的倒刺長滿在他背后。

"Oh help! Oh no!

“哦，救命啊！不，不，不！

It's a gruffalo!"

那是咕嚕牛！”

"My favourite food!" the Gruffalo said.

“我最愛吃小老鼠！”咕嚕牛說道，

"You'll taste good on a slice of bread!"

“弄個老鼠漢堡，味道肯定非常好！

"Good?" said the mouse."Don't call me good!

“味道好？你先別說我味道好！

I'm the scariest creature in this world.

在這林子里，大家怕我怕得不得了，

Just walk behind me and soon you'll see,

只要跟我走一圈，馬上就讓你看到，

Everyone is afriad of me."

他們個個都怕我?！?/p>

"All right,"said the Gruffalo,bursting with laughter.

“那我倒要開開眼！”咕嚕牛哈哈大笑，

"You go ahead and I'll follow after."

“你在前面走，我跟在你后面瞧。”

They walked and walked till the Gruffalo said,

他們一直往前走，咕嚕牛忽然停下，

"I hear a hiss in the leaves ahead."

“我聽到草叢里面嘶嘶響?！?/p>

"It's snake," said the mouse."Why,Snake,hello!"

“那是條蛇?！毙±鲜笳f，“蛇啊，你好！”

Snake took one look at the Gruffalo.

蛇抬起頭，看了眼咕嚕牛。

"Oh crumbs!" he said,"Goodbye,little mouse,"

“哦，我的天?。　彼f，“再見，小老鼠！”

And off he slid to his logpile house.

說完，他哧溜溜溜進(jìn)了他的木堆屋。

"You see?" said the mouse."I told you so."

“看見沒有？”小老鼠說，“我說過的吧。”

"Amazing!"said the Gruffalo.

“這事還真是有點怪！”咕嚕牛說道。

They walked some more till the Gruffalo said,

他們繼續(xù)走，咕嚕牛忽然又停下。

"I hear a hoot in the trees ahead."

“我聽見樹梢頂有咕咕響的聲音。”

"It's Owl,"said the mouse,"Why,Owl,hello!"

“那是只貓頭鷹。”小老鼠說，“貓頭鷹，你好！”

Owl took one look at the Gruffalo.

貓頭鷹低下頭，看了眼咕嚕牛。

"Oh dear!"he said,"Goodbye,little mouse,"

“哦，天吶！”他說，“再見，小老鼠！”

And off he flew to his treetop house.

說完，呼啦啦他飛進(jìn)了他樹頂?shù)男∥荨?/p>

"You see?"said the mouse."I told you so."

“看見沒有？”小老鼠說，“我說過的吧?！?/p>

"Astounding!" said the Gruffalo.

“太震驚！”咕嚕牛說道。

They walked some more till the Gruffalo said,

他們繼續(xù)走，咕嚕牛忽然又停下。

"I can hear feet on the path ahead."

“我聽見前面路上有走路聲?！?/p>

"It's fox,"said the mouse."Why,Fox,hello!"

“那是只狐貍。”小老鼠說，“狐貍，你好！”

Fox took one look at the Gruffalo.

狐貍抬起頭，看了眼咕嚕牛。

"Oh help!"he said,"Goodbye,little mouse,"

“哦，救命??！”他說，“再見，小老鼠！”

And off he ran to his underground house.

轉(zhuǎn)眼間他跑向他地底下的房子。

"Well,Gruffalo,"said the mouse."You see?

“好了，咕嚕牛。”小老鼠說道，“看見沒有，

Everyone is afraid of me!

每個人都怕我！

But now my tummy's beginning to rumble.

但是現(xiàn)在我的肚子餓得咕咕叫了。

My favourite food is---gruffalo crumble!”

我最喜歡的食物是---咕嚕牛肉！”

"Gruffalo crumble!" the Gruffalo said,

“咕嚕牛肉！”咕嚕牛叫到，

And quick as the wind he turned and fled.

然后他轉(zhuǎn)身就逃，快得像風(fēng)一樣！

All was quiet in the deep dark wood.

森林深處靜悄悄，

The mouse found a nut and the nut was good.

小老鼠發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個榛果，榛果的味道真得好棒！
