according to是介詞，后接名詞或代詞；according as是連詞，后接句子。但是對于“后接句子”的理解要注意：

▲according as是連詞，后接句子——指的是后面直接跟句子，句子前面不能另有其他“引導(dǎo)詞”（因為according as就是引導(dǎo)從句的連詞）。如：

You may go or stay,?according as?you decide.?是去是留由你自己決定。

Everyone contributes?according as?he is able.?每個人根據(jù)自己的能力作出貢獻(xiàn)。

You will be praised or blamed?according as?your work is good or bad.?你受表揚還是責(zé)備得看你的工作好壞決定。

▲according to是介詞，后接名詞或代詞，正如其他介詞也可后接名詞性從句一樣，介詞according to也可后接名詞性從句（此時的名詞性從句必須要自己的“引導(dǎo)詞”，如連接代詞或連接副詞）：

He is an honest businessman,?according to what?everyone says.?根據(jù)大家所說，他是位誠實的商人。（according to?后接what引導(dǎo)的賓語從句what everyone says）

The amount of tax people pay varies?according to where?they live.?居住地不同，人們所交的稅額也各不相同。（according to?后接where引導(dǎo)的賓語從句where they live）

These apples have been graded?according to how?big they are.?這些蘋果已經(jīng)按照大小分了等級。（according to?后接how引導(dǎo)的賓語從句how big they are）

They were arranged?according to when?they happened.?它們是按發(fā)生的時間安排的。（according to?后接when引導(dǎo)的賓語從句when they happened）

I’m surprised?at how?fast she can run.?我很驚奇她能跑那么快。（at后接how引導(dǎo)的賓語從句how fast she can run）
