The view from the top of the UFO was gorgeous. Before all this, the wars, the fighting, the death, this land was a place of refuge, it was their home. They built it with their friends from scratch, a UFO that would stand up tall above the rest of the server and always be there for protection. It was all that the poor alien who had just recently gotten out of Hypixel could ask for, and yet now it stood destroyed, nothing but the last few pieces hanging in the air by the beam of light that now led nowhere.

Up above, the rest of the SMP was more than clear, even though the storm was brewing he could see the exploded pit that was once L’manburg, the country that took his friends away from them. Deep inside of them, they blamed that Wilbur guy for creating that damn country, for making Tommy and Tubbo and everyone else forgets that he was ever there, that he was even human. That was the country that made Dream, his brother, lose his mind in needing Tommy. No one knew what Dream’s obsession with the loudmouthed 17-year -old stemmed from, but Purpled had a feeling it was because of him. Because they were the broken one, the one who was taken all those years ago, the damaged goods Dream was meant to love. It’s truly no wonder Dream became obsessed with Tommy as a little brother, he was everything Purpled wasn’t, and Purpled resented Tommy for it.

It was pretty gradual at first, Dream and Punz were so transfixed in watching over L’manburg they assumed Purpled would understand and stop bugging the two, and soon he did. Then slowly his friends ghosted him, stopped coming over, answering his texts, and eventually wouldn’t even spare him a passing glance. Now of course rationally Purpled knew that they were busy, hell governing a country must be tough, but it just made him feel replaceable once again. So he just stopped, stopped trying to be noticed, and took his role as a nobody.

It was hard at first, but then it was nothing and that was worse in every way. Purpled felt nothing, he didn’t see the point in anything he used to enjoy, even his dog seemed to stop caring. They didn’t take care of themselves because why would they, they didn’t deserve food, especially if he was just rotting away in his home anyway. When the eggpire came to him about killing Puffy, it was the first time he had tried at something in years, and he just couldn’t do it, couldn’t kill the only person who had shown him kindness. They expected to fade away forever, now a failed mercenary for the first time ever, when Quackity approached him. He fought against the eggpire with him and pushed past everything not to be weak, even when stabbed by his past friend Hannah. Then there was Las Nevadas and the whole revival book ordeal, and then Slime was dead and their sword was bloody. Everything had gone black and a few days later he was here, on the remains of his blown-up UFO, swaying, waiting to just fall off.

Walking on the prime path late at night was not a new thing for Tommyinnit. Being woken up by a nightmare and no longer feeling safe at home due to the disturbing images left behind from his dream made him want to go on a stroll. However, scraps of discarded netherite armor on the ground near church prime was in fact not normal. At first, Tommy was ecstatic, I mean c’mon, free armor! The memory of the events of the Dream SMP brought him back to reality, discarded armor usually only meant a death had taken place. Looking around Tommy saw that after his walking loop he was now near church prime facing towards his house. The largest pile of things was right at the base of the beam left behind from Purpled’s UFO, and with a quick glance up he could just barely see the source

Purpled and he used to be real close, truly the best of friends. Unfortunately, there were big things to do and it was all just bad timing, Wilbur finally joined the server and they started L’maburg and then there was the war and dream and- a lot happened. So if Purpled had kind of, slipped to the back of his mind in the midst of everything that would be alright. Purpled was a tough, terrifying kind of guy, with a powerful facade no one could quite get through. He was a damn good fighter, secretly on par with Techno, and could fend for himself. Not to mention the boy was never interested in the fighting like he was, Purpled always put it off as already having had his fair share of combat but never elaborated for them. This small blob on top of a piece of scrap metal, now that was not Purpled, hell it didn’t even look like him at all. Slowly building up to where he was, forgetting the netherite armor where it lay, he could see that this person had grown out blonde hair (like his own), two antennas, an extra set of purple eyes, and a generally weaker frame.

Finally reaching the top and being level with this being, he could see him standing real close to the ledge of the broken UFO, just staring at the ground with this far-off look. Tommy tried, really, to find the words to say but the look he saw in Purpled’s eyes was just too similar to his own in exile it left him shocked. The two actually looked fairly similar now, same hair, height, sunken in the face, and already dead expression. Tommy looked at him the same way he would see himself in the mirror. In his examination of the other, Purpled still hadn’t noticed Tommy and was now only sneaking closer to the edge. At this, Tommy didn’t think and just reached out his hand to grab Purpled’s arm. Purpled’s eyes stayed glaring and the ground unmoving, and unresponsive to Tommy’s hand around his upper arm. They stayed like that for a while, neither moving nor talking until Tommy finally spoke up, startling purpled

Tommy cleared his throat to stop his own ramblings and took a deep breath, just wanted any sort of reaction, anything that would give him something to work with here

“What are you doing here Tommy?”

Purpled said gruffly, as if he hadn’t heard the whole explanation Tommy had just given that made everything perfectly clear. As Tommy went to reiterate that he was just checking in on his bud Purp man, Purpled added

The upfrontness of it all startled Tommy, everything was said like he was a divorced Dad who had just finished a 12-hour shift, all except for the ‘please’ which sounded like true pleading. Tommy did nothing but grab Purpled’s other arm, making them face him and pull him into a hug

In this case, though, the only leave option was the leap to the ground below, a terrifying reality Tommy(譯者補(bǔ)充:這里原作者少打了一個(gè)m,所以我用不同顏色的筆加上了!) was trying desperately to avoid for Purpled.

He started to really fight back at that, punching and shoving at Tommy, too weak for Tommy to let go but strong enough for it to definitely leave bruises. A million thoughts and word combinations ran through Tommy’s head, but none were right, none were as good as just being with Purpled at this moment. He had been here before, looking far off into the eternal way out, and knew first hand the best thing he could do was just be there for Purpled and keep him safe. Purpled disagreed.

The last sentence came out as more of a sob, a shocking contrast to the anger seeping out early in Purpled’s outburst. The admission shocked both of them, Tommy knew Purpled had a messy history with lives and the, well, taking of them, but not to that extent. And Purpled, mortified at what he said, but the feeling overtaken by the pure emptiness that had taken over him disappearing and years' worth of emotions running back. Tommy took every punch and kick until the exhaustion eventually got to Purpled and he collapsed into Tommy’s arms, now only being held up by the brit.

In the morning this would be dealt with, therapy appointments made, bandages for Tommy’s chest, Tubbo called over, and so much more, but for now, Tommy rolled blanket on the floor next to his own bed, and slept soundly on the floor below Purped.

Purpled?and?he?used?to?be?real?close,?truly?the?best?of?friends.?Unfortunately,?there?were?big?things?to?do?and?it?was?all?just?bad?timing,?Wilbur?finally?joined?the?server?and?they?started?L’maburg?and?then?there?was?the?war?and?dream?and-?a?lot?happened.?So?if?Purpled?had?kind?of,?slipped?to?the?back?of?his?mind?in?the?midst?of?everything?that?would?be?alright.?Purpled?was?a?tough,?terrifying?kind?of?guy,?with?a?powerful?facade?no?one?could?quite?get?through.?He?was?a?damn?good?fighter,?secretly?on?par?with?Techno,?and?could?fend?for?himself.?Not?to?mention?the?boy?was?never?interested?in?the?fighting?like?he?was,?Purpled?always?put?it?off?as?already?having?had?his?fair?share?of?combat?but?never?elaborated?for?them.?This?small?blob?on?top?of?a?piece?of?scrap?metal,?now?that?was?not?Purpled,?hell?it?didn’t?even?look?like?him?at?all.?Slowly?building?up?to?where?he?was,?forgetting?the?netherite?armor?where?it?lay,?he?could?see?that?this?person?had?grown?out?blonde?hair?(like?his?own),?two?antennas,?an?extra?set?of?purple?eyes,?and?a?generally?weaker?frame.

The?upfrontness?of?it?all?startled?Tommy,?everything?was?said?like?he?was?a?divorced?Dad?who?had?just?finished?a?12-hour?shift,?all?except?for?the?‘please’?which?sounded?like?true?pleading.?Tommy?did?nothing?but?grab?Purpled’s?other?arm,?making?them?face?him?and?pull?him?into?a?hug.

在訂閱大道上走夜路對(duì)TommyInnit來說是尋常的事了.他被噩夢(mèng)驚醒,在家似乎總甩不掉夢(mèng)中那些陰魂不斷的碎片的他沒有安全感,于是決定溜達(dá)一圈.雖說如此,躺在大道旁的幾片下界合金甲卻并不怎么常見.一開始,Tommy感到欣喜,免費(fèi)的盔甲嘛!但在DreamSMP上發(fā)生過的事情將他拉回了現(xiàn)實(shí).拋棄的盔甲在這一般只意味著死亡.Tommy四周張望,發(fā)現(xiàn)他走的是一個(gè)小循環(huán)-現(xiàn)在他正位于教堂旁邊,面朝著他的房子.最大的那一堆東西躺在Purpled的UFO的那束光源根部,向上瞄一眼,剛好可以看見東西的來源.

Tommy清了清嗓子,打斷了他自己的那一溜話語,深吸了一口氣.他只是想要一個(gè)供他參考的反應(yīng).

"Tommy你在這里干什么?"

Purpled有些粗魯?shù)卣f,好似他根本沒聽見Tommy剛給出的一大堆理由.當(dāng)Tommy解釋他只是來康眼他的伙計(jì)Purp,Purpled又道,

"幾年內(nèi)你都沒有和我交流過了,別冒出來演戲.請(qǐng)不要假裝你在意了,求你了,讓我做我需要做的事."

這所有的直戳重點(diǎn)讓Tommy很驚訝,就像是他是個(gè)剛輪完12小時(shí)班的離婚的父親,只是那個(gè)"求你了"似乎真的是央求.Tommy只是抓住Purpled的另一只手,讓他們面對(duì)面,將他擁入懷中.

"咱們下去,好嗎?我們?cè)谙旅?安全的地方可以一塊聊聊但是我們不能這么高."

聽到那,Purpled似乎放松了一些,但Tommy很了解他并且知道這只是暴風(fēng)雨前的寧?kù)o罷了.他一會(huì)要直接崩潰崩完之后又平靜下來.但在這里,唯一的選擇似乎就是跳入虛無,一個(gè)Tommy在努力為Purpled回避的事實(shí).

"走開,放開我吧,放開我,"

Tommy感覺到Purpled的雙手正在試圖在他們倆中間創(chuàng)造一個(gè)空隙.Tommy擠得更緊了.
