When the World Tree burned, and the fire spread to the feyrealm, the queen of the Seelie Court carried the flames to the elemental plane of fire, never to be seen again. But on the Day of Ashen Skies, as the material plane once again came into contact with the fey realm, a new queen claimed the throne of light. Not quite mortal, but noticeably tied to the material plane, the Fey Queen had neither memory of nor resemblance to the queen that came before. ? ? ? ? ? Consort to the Fey Queen, the Lord of Beasts embodies both predator and prey, both life and death. He frequently visits the material plane in the form of an animal, to either hunt or be hunted, and returns to the feyrealm when he has either killed or died. If he is killed, the Lord of Beasts will always bless the animal or other mortal being that killed him with his favor. Those he kills, meanwhile, do not die. Instead, he brings them along with him to the feyrealm to run alongside him in the Wild Hunt. There, they hunt the savage and twisted things that dwell in the dark corners of the Feyrealm forever.

? ? ? ? ? The King of the Satyrs, Dolumir the Horned-God was an archfey who resided in the Deepwoods. Believed to have created the Satyrs in ancient days, Dolumir was loosely associated with the Seelie court and was responsible for many of the famous revels of the fey. A jovial spirit that did not know the meaning of the word “excess”, Dolumir lost his status as an archfey in a bet that he lost to Nathalyne the Shadowmoon in 1137.?

? ? ? ? ? The World Tree that once stood in Escann connected the Feyrealm to the material plane, and its mirror also stood in the feyrealm. As an anchor between the two planes, it was home to many minor fey courts. When the tree was put to the torch by Castan Beastbane, and the connection between the planes was violently disrupted, the fire also reached the feyrealm, burning the courts there. After the Fey Queen sacrificed herself by banishing the flames to the elemental plane of fire, however, the rulers of the minor courts emerged from the remnants of the tree, fused into one being. Known as the Fused Monarchs, this archfey is the combined consciousness of many, and is rarely of one mind on anything. It remains in the Seelie Court, loyal because of the circumstances of its creation, but it is even more fickle than any other fey, containing the minds of both Seelie and Unseelie.

? ? ? ? ? Rarely seen in the Seelie Court’s revels and festivities, the Prince is an archfey interested in keeping change, growth, and action in motion. Their followers are encouraged to challenge the status quo and offer something better, if not at least different. Violence should be limited and committed only to spread change. Violence for the sake violence or chaos is unacceptable. When communed with, the Prince of Fools often speaks in riddles or vagaries. Even more than the average fey. This is believed to be because the Prince is always curious to see what direction their followers will take their words.?

? ? ? ? ? Endless is the ebb and flow of the waves. The sea brings great bounty, but takes in equal measure. The Drag of the Waves is the malevolent being that sailors appease, but also the burst of wind that lifts the doldrums on the open ocean. It does not have a physical form, or appears as the ocean itself. Some Summer Court druids argue that the Drag of the Waves created the Caamasi by luring Ealar the Mariner into the open seas, and even suggest that was also the reason Ealar left to explore and never returned.

He is present in the minds of all those around him, instantly aware of even their most secret thoughts, speaking his will in sharp commands. This experience is described as terrifying, excruciatingly painful, and hauntingly beautiful. The King of Darkness never imposes fealty upon anyone, but those who choose to serve him are expected to do so for all time.

? ? ? ? ? Appearing as a giant moth, the Herald of Change is the first envoy of war of the Unseelie Court, and the unparalleled master of change and metamorphosis. A rather capricious fey, the Moon-Moth is feared even by the other archfey for its nearly irreversible curses, which have throughout the aeons led to the creation of various warped beasts of the Deepwoods, and afflicted Vukar with lycanthropy, turning him into the first werewolf. The Herald of Change normally changes things at will, but as it grows stronger from it, its powers become increasingly uncontrollable until it warps everything around itself and themselves, so it has to be reborn from a cocoon in the Unseelie Court - over and over again.

? ? ? ? ? Despite being part of the Unseelie Court, the Trader of Masks and Faces spends little time there. Instead, they prefer roaming around the Feyrealm, the material plane, and sometimes even other planes. The trader never wears the same face twice, and it is unknown what their true form looks like, if they even have one. They collect identities, and may loan identities from the collection to anyone, in return for being gifted their old one. Of course, loaned identities are returned to the Trader of Masks and Faces upon death. Additionally, they may grant wishes to mortals in return for their firstborn children, which are replaced by fey changelings when they are born. The collection of the Trader is vast, and grows all the time.

? ? ? When dealing with the Fey and their courts, one is used to the capriciousness and chaos with only half-hearted obedience to a far-away Archfey. This is not always true: there are underlings, no more than common servants, who perform manual labor at the will of their masters. And there are those who serve with blade and blood: champions of the Fey. These knights of the other world obey their masters with striking loyalty, a beacon of stability in a lawless court. It is said that they are a mockery of the loyalties of mortals, yet their pride is unmatched. Standing above all else, the Gloam Knight serves as the vengeful blade of the shadowy world, hunting those who break their pacts. As the deliverer of bloody justice, the Gloam Knight has inspired warriors throughout Eordand, especially within the Autumn Court and the Eordellon. Those who feel greatly wronged and wish for power to right them call to the champion of the woods. But one must always be wary, for the shadow lingers and hides and does not care for the light of mortal laws.

? ? ? ? ? The Everfrost Prince is an enigmatic part of the Unseelie court, apparently unquestionably devoted to the King of Darkness, but nonetheless focused on his own goals. The few who have witnessed him have done so only in the dark depths of winter, or whilst in the grip of fatal cold, and they record him as being seemingly obsessed with the cold and it’s effects on mortals, with the appearance of a (terrifyingly beautiful) frozen elf-ish humanoid, with pure white skin, long, icy blue hair, blindingly bright, clear blue eyes, and a cold, fatalistic demeanor, not-dissimilar to the unimpeachable inevitability of hypothermia, or the slow yet unstoppable movement of a glacier. Most sightings of him have been among the Snecboth, and it is theorized that he may have played a part in Eordand’s abandonment of seasonal balance, through his bestowment of great power over the cold he gifts to those who would seek his patronage, given in return for devotion to him and his goal. Evidence of this meddling can be seen in the old Vechnogejzn myth of the Frost King, which (if it has any basis in truth at all) could be seen as either the Everfrost Prince himself attempting to impose eternal winter on the Old Rzentur, or one of his clients attempting to do his bidding. There are also those who claim that Immarel Winterswrath, the infamous winter witch from the time of the Hibernal Crusade, may have been bestowed her unnatural magical talent by the Everfrost Prince, but no definitive proof has been found due to the Taigan Order’s destruction of all relevant records.

? ? ? ? ? The Blackened Prince is the understood leader of the Ashentree Fey. They single focused their task of restoring the World Tree and bringing vengeance upon humanity for the original destruction of the Tree. They are open to both subtle and overt force, though they are often forced to be quieter due to the lack of support (and sometimes straight opposition) from other powerful fey. Above all else, they value devotion to their cause. Wavering from it or, worse, showing opposition to it is a certain path to their ire.

? ? ? ? ? Of the all archfey, Lord Blossom is perhaps the most unusual. Rarely seen amongst his fellow fey, Lord Blossom is well known to prefer the company of unknowing mortals and the plant life of both Feyrealm and Material Plane. Typically taking the form of an elderly-looking, good-natured humanoid, he often wanders the countryside offering pieces of agricultural advice to passerbyers and caring for the local flora while enjoying Petég Apple. His work can be seen throughout the Deepwoods, and the River Grove in particular. Small and insignificant glades are known to bloom suddenly in vibrant colors and fragrances. Other times, young fruit trees mature in an instant and begin bearing lush fruit without reason.

The Emerald Lady is a non-court aligned archfey and self-proclaimed “Dryad Goddess”, interested in manipulating mortals through religion, which she does by adopting the guise of the pre-existing nature goddesses and appearing to their mortal worshippers in order to shape the old cults to suit her interests and make her mortal worshippers do her bidding. Historically, her cults were most widespread in ancient Escann among the Alenic and Old Escanni humans, but after the destruction of the Deepwoods and the decline of the Cult of Halanna, her influence waned significantly. Some have speculated that she is trying to manipulate the Forest Goblins via their cult of Vortza Lesa, as well as the followers of Falah and various druidic circles in Escann.

? ? ? ? ? Little is known of the Eldest by mortals. The only record of their existence is their “death” by the hands of the ascended goddess Corin, the goblin warlock Oubblig, the elven mage Arun Drennen and those with them. What little more is known is thanks to Arun Drennen’s research. He writes, “The source and creator of the Verdant Veil is by an archfey I’ve taken to calling the Eldest. Despite my best efforts, I’ve not found a word in our tongue that can describe their title, but I believe the term does well enough. For every fey, from the lowly pixie to royal archfey, seems to revere the Eldest as a child should their seniors.”

? ? ? Unthroned Queen (Eordand Eordellon patron)

? ? ? ? ? Whether on Halann, the Fey Realm, or another world yet unheard of, there are those who had their rule taken from them and lost their own power. And should they persevere their fall from grace, they almost always are driven a desire for revenge and a return to their rightful greatness. The Unthroned Queen finds the Peitar Eordan to be easy prey to her schemes, playing upon their entitled seniority and feeling of betrayal.
