在中學(xué)階段，我們學(xué)習(xí)這幾個(gè)形容詞“interested”、“excited ”、“disappointed”

時(shí)， 當(dāng)時(shí)我們只知道它們是形容詞，并沒有進(jìn)行深究。進(jìn)一步學(xué)習(xí)會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)，

它們是由使役動(dòng)詞 “interest(使關(guān)心；使感興趣)”、“excite(使興奮)”、

“disappoint(使失望)”轉(zhuǎn)變過來的，在閱 讀中會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)一些使役動(dòng)詞多用于

被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)，不明白其原因，然后就死記硬背。如果我們在學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)，稍加

分析并總結(jié)這些使役動(dòng)詞的主動(dòng)語態(tài)與被動(dòng)語態(tài)的轉(zhuǎn)換，我們就可以做到

舉一反三， 不僅容易記住單詞，而且容易掌握其用法，同時(shí)對理解其他使

役動(dòng)詞的用法及學(xué)習(xí)英漢思維模式轉(zhuǎn)換規(guī)律有很大幫助。

學(xué)習(xí)下面這些動(dòng)詞時(shí)，注意它們的主動(dòng)語態(tài)與被動(dòng)語態(tài)之間的轉(zhuǎn)換，然后就

很好理解“be interested in”等這類結(jié)構(gòu)。

1. involve vt 使陷于（麻煩等中）；使卷入復(fù)雜或困難的情況

Don’t involve other people in your mad scheme.

不要把其他人牽扯進(jìn)你瘋狂的計(jì)劃中。

b. They are deeply involved in debt. 他們債臺(tái)高筑。

2. aim vt 以（槍炮等）對準(zhǔn)；以…為目標(biāo)

a. He aimed (his gun) at the lion, fired and missed.

他瞄準(zhǔn)那獅子，放槍，未打中。（牛津現(xiàn)代高級英漢雙解詞典）

b. My remarks were not aimed at you. 我的評論不是針對你。

c. The program is aimed at ( intended for) young teenagers.

這個(gè)項(xiàng)目是面向青少年的。

d. Exams are aimed to evaluate how well students have learnt their subjects.

考試的目的為了評估學(xué)生對他們學(xué)科的掌握情況。

3. mean vt 意欲；企圖

a. I didn’t mean you to read the letter. 并沒有打算要你讀這封信。

b. That remarks were meant to hurt her. 這些評論本意就是傷害她。

c. You are not meant to take your shoes off when you enter a Hindu temple.

當(dāng)你進(jìn)入印度廟宇時(shí)，你要脫掉你的鞋子。

4. decide vt 使決定

a. What decided you to give up your job? 什么原因使你決定放棄工作？

b. What determined you to accept the offer? 什么原因使你決定接受此項(xiàng)提議？

be decided /determined to do something .

5. face vt 呈現(xiàn)于…之前

The main difficulty that faces us today is of supplying food to those in need.

我們當(dāng)前面臨的主要困難是為那些急需食物的人提供食物。

這句話可以轉(zhuǎn)變成“We are faced with the main diffiulty of supplying food to those in

need.”

6. confront vt 使…面對

a. The difficulties that confront us seem insuperable.

我們面臨的困難似乎無法克服。

b. My house confronts his. 我的家與他的家對門。

be confronted with. 使面對。

a. The prisoner was confronted with his accusers. 那犯人被傳與起訴者對質(zhì)。

b. The actress was confronted by a large group of reporters as she left the stage door.

當(dāng)這名女演員走出舞臺(tái)門的時(shí)候，她遇到了一大群記者。

7. prepare vt 準(zhǔn)備

a. prepare pupils for an examination. 指導(dǎo)學(xué)生準(zhǔn)備考試。

b. we are prepared to supply the goods you ask for.

我們能夠而且愿意供應(yīng)你要的食物。

8. incline vt 使（某人）有意（作某事）

a. The news inclines me to start at once. 這消息使我想立刻動(dòng)身。

b. I am inclined to start at once. 我想立刻動(dòng)身。

9. doom vt 注定(常用被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu))

Her plan was doomed to failure. 他的計(jì)劃注定失敗。

10. suppose vt 認(rèn)定； 假定（常用被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)）

be supposed to do 被期望或要求；應(yīng)該

Is he supposed to clean the outside of the windows or only the inside?

他應(yīng)該把窗戶外面擦干凈，還是擦窗戶里面就可以呢?

11. intend vt 意欲；打算

We intend them to do it. 我們打算讓他們做那事。

be intended to do something. 意思是使; 是用來

a. His son is intended for the medical profession. 他計(jì)劃讓他的兒子行醫(yī)。

b. It was intended to be cooked slowly. 這需要用慢火煮。

12. oppose vt 反對

He was totally opposed to me getting married. 他完全反對我結(jié)婚。

13. obsess vt 常用被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)(指恐懼，固執(zhí)的或錯(cuò)誤的觀念)占據(jù)心思

He was obsessed by/with fear of unemployment. 他被失業(yè)的恐懼所困擾。

a. If there’s a particular cell here that doesn’t make any sense, you just put an x
