epitomize
v. be a perfect example of sth 成為...的典范 e.g. Kanye West has redefined celebrity, has reshaped artistry, and epitomizes relevance like no other can. 3.
relevant
adj. A. closely connected with the subject you are discussing or the situation you are thinking about. 緊密相關(guān)的;切題的 synonyms(近義詞):
apposite, apropos, germane, and pertinent.
antonym(反義詞):
irrelevant, impertinent
B. having ideas that are valuable and useful to people in their lives and work 有價值的,有意義的 e.g. Kanye's prose is both incredibly meaningful and highly relevant. 4.
flagrant
adj. 駭人聽聞的,公然的 (of an action considered wrong or immoral) conspicuously or obviously offensive. e.g. Kanye West is vocal. He's flagrant. 5.
without parallel
無與倫比 無可匹敵 idiom : better than all others. e.g I'll briefly outline Kanye's profound impacts within the musical sphere, concluding his influence in rap is without parallel. 6.
reconcile
v. 調(diào)和,使協(xié)調(diào)一致;(使)和解 to make consistent or congruous e.g. Kanye reconciled rap with religion and evaluating education. 7.
throb
v. If something throbs, it vibrates and makes a steady noise. (有規(guī)律地) 震動作響 throbbing adj. 悸動的;跳動的 e.g. All layered over the throbbing beats for which he made his name. 8.
flip
v. turn over with a sudden quick movement.(使)快速翻轉(zhuǎn),迅速翻動; e.g. He is the only artist able to flip so effortlessly between such disparate styles while maintaining such quality. 9.
eulogize
v. praise highly in speech or writing. 頌揚,稱贊 e.g. I could eulogize Kanye's musical career for 8 minutes. 10.
devastating
adj. impressive and powerful 給人印象深刻的,令人欽佩的,強有力的 devastatingly adv.
soliloquy
n. an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play. 獨白;自言自語 e.g. Rap is the 21st centuries soliloquy and Kanyes is as devastatingly personal as it gets. 11.
vernacular
n. the language or dialect spoken by the ordinary people in a particular country or region. 本地話,方言; e.g. I have no doubt that our opposition tonight will emphasize the influence of Shakespeare upon our vernacular. 12.
dismantle
v. To dismantle an organization or system means to cause it to stop functioning by gradually reducing its power or purpose. 逐步廢除 e.g. Kenya West dismantled the status quo and challenged conventional thought 13.
incisive
adj. You use incisive to describe a person, their thoughts, or their speech when you approve of their ability to think and express their ideas clearly, briefly, and forcefully. 敏銳的; 深刻的 e.g. He so incisively questions what matters in the here and in the now. 14.
attune
v. to adjust or accustom (a person or thing); acclimatize 使(人或事物)協(xié)調(diào) e.g. Rap is attuned to the modern ear. 15.
baton
n. A baton is a light, thin stick used by a conductor to conduct an orchestra or a choir. (樂隊) 指揮棒 In track and field or track events, a baton is a short stick that is passed from one runner to another in a relay race. 接力棒
parochialism
n. a limited or narrow outlook, especially focused on a local area; narrow-mindedness. 偏狹,狹隘;眼界狹小 e.g. Rap has picked up the baton within music of social progression, refuting parochialism and addressing the true issues that matter. 16
vapid
adj. offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging; adj. 無趣味的;無生氣的;索然乏味的 e.g. In a time of vapid, valueless pop music, rap is our redeeming and relevant art form. 17.
barometer

hallmark
