The Ion Cannon is a powerful Tau weapon mounted on large vehicles and starships.

The Ion Cannon itself operates by generating a stream of high-energy ionised particles and launching them at a target using an electromagnetic field. These particles react explosively with the target, transferring tremendous energy at the atomic level. ?The resulting vaporisation only magnifies the amount of damage dealt, with starship-based models comparable to Imperial Lances.
